Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Cerna Intelligence (“Cerna,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use cerna.app and related services. We try to keep this plain. If anything is unclear, write to hello@cerna.app.

Information we collect

• Account information. Your email address and (if you sign up with GitHub) your GitHub identity. You provide this when you create an account.
• Content you create. The topics, watchers, files, and notes you put into Cerna.
• Calibration signals. The save, dismiss, and follow-up actions you take on findings — we use these to personalize what’s shown to you.
• Payment information. Processed by Stripe. We store an opaque customer reference; we never see or store your card details.
• Product analytics. Basic page visits and feature usage. We do not run third-party advertising trackers and do not build cross-site profiles.

How we use it

• Deliver scans, findings, and notifications you ask for.
• Personalize relevance using your save/dismiss signals.
• Process payments and provide receipts.
• Diagnose and fix product issues.
• Send service emails (changes to your account, billing, security).

We do not sell your data, and we do not use the content of your watchers to train models for anyone else.

Third-party processors

We rely on a small number of vendors to operate Cerna. Each is bound by its own privacy policy and applicable data-processing terms.

Data retention

We retain findings for 12 months by default so you can look back at how a topic has moved. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data and watcher contents within 30 days, except where we’re required to retain billing records for tax or legal reasons.

Your rights

You can:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Export your watchers and findings.
• Correct anything wrong.
• Delete your account and request erasure of your data.

Email hello@cerna.app from your account address and we’ll respond within 30 days.

Security

All traffic to Cerna runs over TLS. Stored data is encrypted at rest by our database provider. Access to production systems is restricted, and service-role credentials are kept in a managed secret store, never in code or version control.

Children

Cerna is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact hello@cerna.app and we’ll remove it.

International transfers

Cerna’s processors operate globally. Your data may be processed in jurisdictions outside your own (including the United States and the European Economic Area) under each vendor’s standard contractual protections.

Changes to this policy

When we make material changes, we’ll email you at the address on your account and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Cerna after a change means you accept the revised policy.
